Trading markets
Understand YES and NO shares, prices, liquidity and payouts.
Read the question first
Every market has a specific YES or NO question. Read its full rules, data source, trading cutoff and resolution time. Two markets with similar headlines can have different measurement windows or settlement conditions.
The percentage displayed on a market comes from the price in its pool. It reflects the current trading price, rather than a guarantee that the event will happen with that probability.
Buy and sell shares
Choose YES or NO and enter how much USDG you want to spend. The trade panel shows the expected shares, average price, fee and price after the trade. Larger orders can move the price more, particularly when liquidity is low.
If needed, approve the USDG amount before confirming the buy. To exit while trading is open, switch to Sell and enter the number of shares to sell. The quoted USDG proceeds include the trading fee. Slippage protection can cause a transaction to revert if the price moves too far before it executes.
Liquidity and complete sets
Liquidity providers supply the pool that traders buy from and sell into. Their liquidity cannot be withdrawn until trading closes. They take the other side of trades and can lose value when the outcome becomes more certain.
The default prediction fee split gives liquidity providers and market creators no trading fee income. Check the individual market's fixed fee split. Holding one YES and one NO forms a complete set, which can be merged back into 1 USDG without waiting for an outcome.
Redeem after settlement
When a market resolves YES, each YES share redeems for 1 USDG and NO shares redeem for nothing. When it resolves NO, the reverse applies. In an invalid or cancelled market, each YES and each NO share redeems for 0.5 USDG, subject to the contract's integer rounding.
A proposed answer is not always final. Where a dispute window applies, wait until the outcome is finalized before redeeming. Use the market page or the prediction positions in Portfolio to claim available payouts; redemption requires a wallet transaction.
